ELIGIBILITY

* Aspiring software entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-35 years.

* Open to people of African nationality or citizenship able to attend physical interviews in Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Nairobi, and Johannesburg. *

A degree from a university or Technical College or equivalent experience with at least 2 years corporate and startup experience.

* Deep skills in either communications, business or software development. You don’t need prior experience in software development to qualify for the programme.

The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) Africa Training Programme is a fully-funded entrepreneurial and technology training initiative designed for aspiring African software developers and startup founders. The program equips participants with practical skills in software development, artificial intelligence, business strategy, leadership, and startup creation. Selected candidates undergo intensive training and mentorship in Accra, Ghana.

2. Who is eligible to apply for the MEST Africa Training Programme?

The programme is open mainly to young African entrepreneurs and tech talents with experience or strong interest in software development, AI, and entrepreneurship. Applicants are usually expected to have a degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience, be between 21 and 30 years old, and be willing to commit fully to the residential training programme.

3. What benefits do participants receive in the MEST Programme?

Successful applicants receive fully-funded training, accommodation, meals, healthcare support, mentorship from global tech experts, networking opportunities, and access to startup incubation support. MEST also covers travel expenses for admitted participants traveling to Ghana. Outstanding startup teams may qualify for incubation and potential pre-seed investment funding after the training phase.
