Eligibility:

If you are a national of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan, and you meet our requirements, then you may be eligible for the scholarship. You will need to attend an interview in Tokyo before we can confirm your nomination. Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy and able to travel to Japan. Applicants must have been born on or after 2 April 1988. You must have scored at least 240 points (equivalent to 2:2) or above out of 366 points (equivalant to 2:1) during the latest two years from your formal studies, failing which your scholarship will be revoked. The scholarships are open for degree courses only at Japanese universities or colleges. You also need to score at least JLPT N4 by December 2020 (not waived conditional on meritocracy).

The International Japanese Government Scholarships for International Students will be open for enrolment until December 22nd, 2022.

How can I apply for a Ritsumeikan University Scholarship?

Ritsumeikan University does not have an application for the 2023-24 government scholarship on their website. For Ritsumeikan University, candidates may apply for enrollment in master’s and/or doctoral degree programs of definite graduate schools through the application process defined below.
